Social Associated Initiatives
Fundação Luso donated one million Água de Luso bottles (0.33l) to various institutions and organizations that were at the frontline in the fight against Covid-19 and/or provided care to a risk group more exposed to the pandemics, providing individual use bottles to reduce the risk of contagion.
“Juntos Voltamos Já” (We’ll Be Back Soon Together), a platform implemented in partnership with other major brands alongside Cerveja Sagres and Água de Luso and with the institutional support of AHRESP and Turismo de Portugal, with the aim of jointly procuring immediate financing for restaurants and bars which had to shut down during the pandemics, either through consumer support with voucher purchases, or at reopening time with associated brands adding their products to the hampers delivered to points of sale, minimizing the financial effort of hospitality channel partners.
Sagres beer partnered with Portugal #EntraEmCena, a national movement and digital marketplace where artists can launch their ideas and obtain investment for the respective design and development stage. The initiative came at a particularly fragile time for everyone, including artists, who had their sources of income cancelled or delayed.
During Easter 2020, Bohemia beer delivered 1 500 special menus to health professionals who were at the front line in the fight against Covid-19, thanking them for being tireless and not giving up during this fight.
Protocol with the Vila Franca de Xira Municipality
In the scope of its Corporate Social Responsibility policy, in 2020 Sociedade Central de Cervejas e Bebidas (SCC) renewed the protocol established in 2006 with the Vila Franca de Xira Municipality (CMVFX), thus continuing to support the local community. Since its inception, the company has provided accumulated funds of one million five hundred and twenty thousand Euros to support the community’s most impoverished families.
The promotion of sustainable practices across the entire value chain and dedication or participation in social impact initiatives is a commitment which has been embedded in SCC Group.
And at times of serious financial difficulties for most of the Portuguese population, companies and their brands can play a decisive role in helping the most impoverished by supporting reputable charity organizations.
Regular collaboration, since 2012, with Banco Alimentar contra a Fome (Food Bank), with the supply of our products; association with the movement “Unidos Contra o Desperdício”, a civic and national movement, that is both bonding and educational, uniting society in an active and positive fight against food waste as well as the movement "Too Good To Go", a free app that allows to reserve quality food at reduced prices to avoid it from going to waste, are some examples of our involvement with social causes.
Promote a safety culture
SCC is committed to creating an increasingly mature safety culture, present in all employee tasks, ultimately aiming to achieve zero accidents.
The focus on continuous training and the promotion of initiatives such as "Aqui Não Há Super Heróis" or the celebration of "World Safety Day” are some examples of actions carried out in all areas of our Company.
